The objectives of this unit are to promote, sensitize and strengthen consultation forest areas at local, regional and national levels to facilitate the participation, coordination, synergies and cross-sectoral actor’s decision making.
Its main functions are:
Promote awareness and strengthen consultation forest spaces at local, regional and national levels to facilitate the participation, coordination, synergies and decision making and cross-sectoral actors.
Promote the development of a program of forestry extension for the use, management, production and consumption of goods and services generated by forest ecosystems.
Coordinate the implementation of Environmental Agro Agenda with the different sectors involved in the national, regional and local levels.
Promote the creation of a forest culture by disseminating environmental, social and economic benefits from forest ecosystems.
Promote the use and development of financial incentives, fiscal and non-financial aimed at promoting, use, management and conservation of biodiversity.
Facilitate and promote comprehensive management mechanisms for the prevention, adaptation and mitigation of the vulnerability of forest ecosystems to impacts generated by exogenous agents such as pests and diseases, forest fires, climate change and other natural hazards.
Coordinate the development of standards, procedures and technical standards, legal and administrative procedures for the use and management of forest resources.
Design and formalize the Strategy for biodiversity adaptation to climate change.
Coordinating SINAC institutional activities within the framework of the REDD national strategy.
Develop and implement a Strategy for the recognition and valuation of ecosystem services provided by biodiversity and natural resources.
Update and implement the Monitoring Strategy and Promotion of Environmental Services Payment Program.
