By public bus:
From San Jose you can take the direct bus with Interamericana de Transportes Blanco Lobo to Puerto Jimenez, this bus stops at La Palma as well. The station is around 150 feet (50 meters) from bus station to San Carlos, in the Coca Cola, San Jose. Approximated travel time: 9 hours.
To get to Drake by public mini-bus, taxi or private 4x4 vehicle ride or by boat from Sierpe.
From Puerto Jimenez, you can take the public bus to Carate. Approximated travel time: 2 hours.
Departure time: 6 am and 1:30 pm
There is another way, reaching Golfito with Transportes Tracopa, then take public boat to Puerto Jimenez.
To reach Los Patos, you can take a private bus / vehicle to the station, from La Palma.
To get to El Tigre from Puerto Jimenez you can take a bus at 11am or 4pm.

By car:
Puerto Jiménez; From San Jose you can take the Interamerican Highway to La Chacarita gas station and then the variant road to the right (gravel road) until to Puerto Jimenez. Approx. 7 hours.
Bahía Drake; From San Jose you can take the Interamerican Highway to La Chacarita gas station and then the variant road to the right (gravel road) until Rincón, then take the deviation to the right until you reach Agujitas in Drake Bay. Approx. 7 hours.
La Palma; From San Jose you can take the Interamerican Highway to La Chacarita gas station and then the variant road to the right (gravel road) until La Palma, duration approx. 6½ hours.
Carate; At Puerto Jimenez, take the ballast road to Carate, 24.8 miles (40 km). Approx. 1 ½ hour.
El Tigre, take the road leading to Puerto Jimenez, at Gallardo take the road and go until the second entrance on the left and in 2.48 miles (4 km) you will reach office ACODOBRARTI office.
By plain:
There are two airlines that fly daily; Sansa and Nature Air. Both have flights to Drake Bay, Puerto Jimenez and Golfito. Duration from San Jose to the Osa Peninsula, about 1 hour.
Also, there is a service company that provides flights from Puerto Jimenez and Drake Bay to Sirena, it is a private service that can be contracted directly with the company Alfa Romeo. The flight is approx. 30-40 minutes.
By boat:
There are several ways, by Golfito, Puerto Jimenez, on the Sierpe River (arriving from Palmar Norte) until Bahia Drake, from Drake Bay and from the area of Uvita Bay. Its duration is from 30 minutes to 1 ½ hours.
Depending on where you take the boat.
Once arrived to the communities near the park:
La Leona; you can enter by the sector Carate, by walking 2.17 miles (3.5 km) along the beach.
San Pedrillo; you can enter by walking at Drake Bay (a walk of 8.6 miles / 14km approx.), you must be informed about the tides as there are rocky areas. You can also enter by boat from Drake Bay, Sierpe or Uvita Bay. (These are private services offered by tour operators)
Los Patos; in summer, you can reach directly the station by four-wheel drive vehicle. Also by walking from Guadalupe across the Rincón River (A 6.21 miles / 10 km walk) or by the road La Tarde (a 4.3 miles / 7km walk)
Sirena; you can enter by walking from the sectors La Leona (9,94 miles / 16km by walking down beach) and Los Patos (a 16,77 / 27 km walk), also by boat from Bahia Drake, Sierpe, Puerto Jimenez or by plane from Puerto Jimenez or Drake Bay.
El Tigre: You can enter from Puerto Jimenez road, at Gallardo detour to reach the office ACODOBRARTI office (Asociación Conservacionista de Dos Brazos de Río Tigre) who together with the park administration, manage this trail.
